first version of my quilt coat, made during NYC’s shutdown last year

I tried to put my time to good use during the shutdown last year. For me, that meant spending about sixteen hours a day at my sewing machine. I had been mulling over design ideas for a quilted coat, and this was my first attempt.

I didn’t want the design to be too complicated and I wanted it to be a “one size fits all” type of garment.

I think it came out surprisingly well for a first try! There are a few things that I tweaked for the second version, but overall it came out pretty close to what I pictured in my head.

I’ve been thinking of selling the pattern for this coat, so be sure to join my email list if you want to know when it becomes available!
